Spring Alert! High-Low Skirts

Apologies for the lack of blog posts this past week! Got a ton of quizzes and tests this week to complete, (3 tomorrow) even though we're only 1 week into the 2nd semester! :S

I don't know about you, but the high-low skirt trend is popping up everywhere, and I am obsessed! So I compiled a few skirts from different stores and I'm planning to purchase 2-3 of them. And yes, I am totally aware of the fact that it is still winter, but this trend is seriously getting me excited for spring!

Which looks intrigue you?

Forever 21

Free People
High Low Skirt in Floral Print

Notes: this has a rather tropical print on it... but who says you can't wear this during the summer?

 Finders Keepers
Gathered Mesh Low Back Skirt
$179.05 USD

Notes:
the mesh work around the skirt will give your look a little more edge! Love the dramatic difference in length!

Wondering how to wear the look?

Have no fear!
a) Like the picture on the left, wear a top which matches the colour of your skirt exactly and tuck it in! It will look like a nice long dress! Plus, wear a belt that contrasts the colour of your "dress" so accentuate your waist!

b) wear a white or cream coloured blouse/crop top/sweater. Any one will do, just really depends on what occasion it is for! Casual - crop top/sweater, formal/kept together look - blouse (tuck it in)!

c) Shoes? Wear HEELS. Firstly, it'll make your legs look longer & leaner. Secondly, since the back of the skirt is already long, you want to give some height, you don't want the skirt to be dragging on those grubby sidewalks...

Leave a comment below to give me your 2-cents on this trend!

Till then!

OOTD (School) 1/2/12

Hola reader!

So today's the first day back after semester break! 3.5 more months of studying until its summer! What a relief... Since today was rather warm out for a winter day, with temperatures shifting between 12-13 degrees Celsius (and yes, I do use Celsius even though I am living in the US of A at the moment), I decided to don thinner layers but still keeping myself warm at the same time.

This ensamble, to be honest is something I would wear during Spring. But I really wanted to take this opportunity to whip out a nice lacey/floral tank top before the temperature dips below 10 degrees again. :O

Here we go!
NOTE before we begin. I wore the exact same jeans, scarf, nail polish, blush and mascara.

Cardigan:  John Smedley Navy V-Neck Cardigan, $310
Note: Yes, it is overpriced. I got a very similar one at a local boutique back in HK.

Tank top: Phase Eight Jasmine Lace Sleeve Blouse, $93
Note: Once again, I wore a VERY similar one I got from Zara last season.

Jeans: Uniqlo, Women Skinny Fit Tapered Jeans A, $55
Note: perfect fit, but I remember I got mind for $199 HKD, which is about $26USD...

Scarf: H&M, Scarf, $11

Bag: Michael Kors, White Tote, $298
Notes: Most definitely would I not spend hundreds of dollars on a school bag... I used a white tote today, with very structured, clear cut lines on it. This bag I found on Polyvore.com was the only one closest to my one :(

Shoes: Burberry Buckle-detailed leather knee boots, $798
Note: Unless you want the real one, need I say more? (:

Jewelry: The same Japanese pearl earrings I wear every single day.

Makeup:
   Nails: OPI Chick Flick Cherry
Blush: L'Orea True Match Super Blendable in Baby Blossom
Mascara: Beauty Treats Fab Curl Up

Please leave me some feedback and comments on whether or not you liked my posts! Also, please give me some more blog ideas you're interested in!

Ttyl!
