My Ideal School Appropriate Look for this Winter (Warmer days)

Good afternoon East Coast!



Since all the snow from yesterday has evaporated without a trace into the atmosphere, I thought that this post would be rather timely. 


PS: my school doesn't have a uniform 


- Blazer: Topshop, Grey Boyfriend Blazer, $130
 Note: perfect outer layer to keep yourself warm, looking presentable and most      importantly, wise!


- Tanktop: H&M, H&M Top, $13
  Note: a fun pattern could bring down the "serious-ness" of your look


- Jeans: Dolce & Gabbana, Dolce & Gabbana Slim Jeans, $275
   Note: wearing black jeans will make you look dreary, keep things looking clean and crisp!


- Boots: Very Volatile, Women's Twain Ankle Boot, $90 $49
   Note: I don't mind brining in a little height into my look! 


- Jewelry: 
   Earrings: Cathy Waterman, Rose Cut Lapis Scalloped Stud Earrings, $2430
    Note: WOAH. Expensive much? Yes it is. I think the earrings were just a good representation of what I would be hanging on my ears. Theres no problem with buying a similar pair from Forever 21 for a fraction of the price!
   Bracelet: Calchi Bracelet, $50


- Backpack: Fossil Handbag, Vintage Reissue Backpack, $218
   Note: very classic, old school look = perfection! 


- Makeup: One by One by Maybelline -> Separate and elongate those lashes!
               Super Orgasm Lipgloss by NARS -> any light pink would do :)

That's about it! I know a lot of the products listed here are crazy expensive and not worth spending tons of $$$ on. These are just some inspiration, and you can easily get similar looking items in cheaper stores (ex: H&M, Forever 21, Rue 21, etc...).

Winter Nail Polishes '11-'12

I am definitely a nail polish girl! Rarely would you see my nails bare... 

Here are 4 of my go-to nail polish colours this chilly season!

From left to right:

- OPI 'Ski Teal We Drop' NL Z16

      Dark teal colour, perfect for darker outfits without wearing black or grey, still a hit of colour to keep               your look interesting!

- OPI 'What's with the Cattitude?' NL B90

      Adore this colour! from the Shrek collection a while back, not sure if it is still available. perfect "cool", pastel colour. for some reason reminds me of snow! Get a cool effect by adding white crackle nail polish on top! 

- OPI 'Chick Flick Cherry' NL H02

     Always going for this colour. very classic and timeless, can never go wrong with any outfit! The colour is very rich and elegant! People often think red might look tacky, but I beg to differ! It's a BEAUT!

- Borghese 'Berry Confezione' B460

    Perfect purple colour. not loud whatsoever, just suttle enough to be worn this season! <3 The brush for Borghese (if any of you are wondering). High quality brush (see photo on the right for the best interpretation of it!)

My Favourite Go-To Style/Outfit (atm)!

If you have read my previous blog post, I summarised my own fashion style as comfortable yet a little preppy (or something close to that). Therefore, I have decided to pull a few pieces together, courtesy of Polyvore.com, to show you what my own personal style is like!

This is a look I would pull off during the later part of Spring or even Autumn. Why? Well here comes the description:

Shirt ->

From/Name/Price? House of Fraser, Warehouse Lace Yoke Tee $55

Why? The bright blue just brings a beautiful pop of colour to the whole outfit. The lace detailing at the top of the shirt brings elegance, as well as tying in the nature (flowers, leaves, etc.)

Jeans ->

From/Name/Price? Style by Marina, Corduroy skinny jeans Style by Marina

Why? Perfect contrast between the rich blue and the white. Also allows the brown of the riding boots to pop!

Boots ->

From/Name/Price? ALDO, 'Roediger Riding' Boot

Why?  I wanted to go with a more casual look and use a larger colour palette

Bag ->

From/Name/Price? H&M Bag

Why? Ties in colour palette with the boots

Accessories ->

From/Name/Price? Miu Miu Headband, $450

Why? Ties in with the "preppy" feeling, as well as matching the colour with the jeans

Beauty ->

                 Nice neutral colour, doesn't compete with the brightness of the shirt

     Lips:  Yves Saint Laurent, Rouge Pur Couture, $30

                 Cute pink to add girly-ness to the whole look

I'm 16 year old girl that grew up in Hong Kong and is currently studying at a boarding school at the East Coast in the US. I ADORE fashion, being both comfortable and somewhat preppy at the same time. Since I've been submerged into both Eastern and Western cultures, I implement the different styles into what I wear everyday. And no, I don't wear a traditional chinese top with washed jeans, I keep things modern with modern day styles from both ends of the world!
